I'm so sorry for your frustration with the Sacred Heart program. I would call Corvallis today and see what they have to say. I recommended my sister, who is having the same problem you are, to Dr. Tersingi in Coos Bay and his coordinators name is Robin.
Don't give up because it will change your life when it eventually happens for you :)

Topic: Anyone else having problems w/ surgery @ RiverBend?
Dr. Yarborough will be leaving August 1st and they do not have a new surgeon yet, so I have no idea when I might be having surgery. Is anyone else in this same boat?
They have not said anything about when they anticipate having another surgeon or anything. Do you think I would be better off to switch everything to the Corvallis hospital where Dr. Yarborough is going? I don't know how long that would take, but it might be better than having everything up in the air.
I'm so confused and frustrated right now. I started this process in October of last year and I only have a 3 month required program for my insurance. Originally - I was told to expect surgery in May. Now I will be lucky to have it before the end of the year.

Too bad that you are limiting it to only OHSU patients. Wonder what makes you so special?

I had my surgery on March 11th of this year and have been attending some of the three Bariatric Support Group sessions offered at OHSU. At one of the last meetings we had talked about starting an on line support group so that HSU patients all over Oregon could connect with other patients in their area. I realize that is also what OH is used for but if you are interested and are a member of Facebook. I have started the Bariatric Support Group for OHSU Patients if you are interested. I am posting the monthly support group meetings, articles, news events. The site is open to all but my description of the group reads
"This is a group for people who have had, are preparing to have or are thinking about having bariatric surgery at OHSU. This group stems from the monthly support groups that happen at OHSU in Portland.
The goal of this group is that people will be able to share their successes, goals, information and struggles while networking with other patients that had their surgery at OHSU."

I am sorry to hear this. I will be having my WLS at OHSU and want all the information I can get. Did they give you a certain amount o weight you had to lose before doing your surgery? This is all new to me.

I also live in Gladstone and am trying to loose weight but struggling to keep active. My youngest appears to be about the same age as yours during your posting. I would love to have a walking or biking buddy to keep me going. I have my refferal from Kaiser and am attending the classes but do not know what the next steps are. Thanks, Amber M.
